The Frontier Between Legendary Monsters and Verified Natural History
The Frontier Between Legendary Monsters and Verified Natural History is a talks & classes event at Sapp Center for Science Teaching and Learning in Palo Alto on Tuesday, October 27 at 9:00 AM.
About this event
Have you ever looked at a mysterious lake shadow and thought, "Is that a giant prehistoric plesiosaur, or just an extraordinarily dramatic floating log?" If so, step into the corridors of the Science Library for our featured book display exploring where ancient myth meets rigorous evolutionary biology. We’re separating biological facts from blurry photographs, blurry folklore, and very clear hoaxes. Come for the ancient folklore, stay for the cold, hard science—and remember: the truth is in here, but so are the quiet study hours.
